Congratulations...
Today was the LAST day of school. I feel like we've been dragging this "end of the school year" thing out long enough. Well, today was awards day for 4th-6th grade and the LAST day. Reid was recognized with the spelling award for his class (he was also in the spelling bee this year) and Principal's List award. (ALL A's & B's) Way to go Reid!!! We are proud of you!!!
Bittersweet...
Graham had his end of the year party last Friday. This was a bittersweet time for me. Probably, because my I let my baby go to Pre-K this year and I can't believe it's over. Boy, time flies. We are so blessed to be a part of a wonderful school. His teacher this year was unbelievable. We fell in love with her because she took such good care of my baby for one and two she is a model of the fruit of the spirit. Thanks Mrs. Sarah for such a wonderful first year. It is one we will always remember and hold near and dear to our hearts. Graham we are proud of you for a terrific first year of school. You learned lots and made lots of friends but more important than that, you learned more bible verses to hide in your heart.

Beach Day
Graham's Beach Day was also today. It was a frigid morning so by the time I made it to beach day from field day, he was an ice cube and ready to go home. Of course, I took him. (poor little thing) I only got a couple of snapshots....
SA Field Day
Today was the big annual rival between the blue and the orange. Starkville Academy has field day every year at the end of the school year with lots of fun games. Today it was lots of mud!! Of course, they love getting covered in mud, that makes it even better. (except for me - I'm the one having to clean everyone...ha) Emory and Reid are always on opposite teams for no apparent reason other than it just works out that way. So they are starting the competition before we even get to school. Long story short, the blue won this year. Sorry Reid - you were a good sport. They had a blast playing sponge relay, tug of war, dizzy dean, soccer dribble, sack hop , 50 yard dash and a few more. (and in between dancing to YMCA...see em's picture below)
Solid Rock Cafe
Emory's 2nd grade just had their class play. It was the Solid Rock Cafe and talked about how we needed to build our lives on the rock of Jesus. Emory sang a duet and did a great job (as always) I think we have a singer/performer on our hands!! The principal made a comment about it being the best play in all the years she's been at SA. (which is about 18) Reid didn't like that she bragged on the 2nd graders like she did...ha

A BUG'S LIFE
While I'm posting, I decided I would share Em's bug collection. She worked hard on it and did it ALL by herself. She wanted to make hers a movie theater and titled it A BUG'S LIFE. She had some good bugs too. Way to go Em on the the best Imperial Moth! You did a great job!
MOTHER'S DAY
Mother's Day was a special day (or should I say weekend). I think Chip was glad when Sunday evening rolled around and he could actually rest..ha Saturday night, he and the kids made me and my Mom a special gourmet meal and they even pulled out the china. We had salad, roasted rosemary potatoes, filet with gorgonzola cheese over caramelized onions and yeast rolls with honey butter. Oh yeah, he bought petit fours to go along with our ice cream. It was YUMMY! They wanted to go ahead and give me my gifts which were sweet. Reid bought (with his own money) a new devotional book from the book fair at school, Emory gave me a bag full of goodies and made me a sweet card, Graham gave me some reed sticks, my Mom gave me a new vacuum cleaner and Chip got me a pair of Chacos! (I'm all about comfort these days) It was a special evening! I am blessed beyond measure with the most wonderful husband , children and Mom.
Sunday after church, Chip had prepared another dinner. He grilled pork tenderloin and make a delicious hashbrown casserole. We got hooked on the honey butter so he went by the store on the way home from church to get more rolls. If you like honey butter, I'll have to share the recipe...yum! I always say if anything ever happens to me that they would make it just fine. . ha He's SUPER DAD and can do it all!!! Thanks guys for making Mother's Day weekend memorable.

GRAHAM'S FIELD TRIP
Graham's Pre- K Class (aren't they cute)
Graham had his field trip to the Refuge on Friday. He had a great time with his friends and I got to tag along. We went hiking, looking for alligators (and saw one...a big one!), had a picnic and I think the most fun was throwing rocks in the water. I rode with another mom and 3 of the boys. On our way out there, we passed by big bales of hay and they were covered in white plastic (i'm sure there's a name for that) and scattered out in a pasture. The boys got so excited and started screaming "Look at the huge marshmallows!" They were hilarious!
